Sights and popular destinations in Val Pusteria that are always worth a visit, regardless of the season and weather:

Castel Tures

There are two museums of the famous South Tyrolean extreme mountaineer Reinhold Messner to visit in the Brunico region: The MMM Ripa at Brunico Castle is dedicated to mountain peoples from all over the world, their culture, religion, and to tourism. Alpine history is told at the MMM Corones on Plan de Corones - in a futuristic museum building designed by star architect Zaha Hadid.

Located at the summit of Plan de Corones, LUMEN is all about the history of mountain photography. The interactive museum opens up surprising insights and unusual perspectives between nostalgia and innovation, between adventure and illusion, between nature and art.

One of Europe’s most beautiful open air museums is located in Teodone near Brunico. Here you can visit old farmhouses from various valleys in South Tyrol in their original state and experience the rural life of the past at first hand.

The traditional family business Bergila, which produces all kinds of herbs and oils according to the rules of the lunar calendar, is located directly by Laghetto di Issengo. Nearby, you can also visit the traditional mountain pine oil distillery.

Campo Tures, the lively centre of Valli di Tures e Aurina, is always worth a visit. As is its landmark: the mighty Taufers Castle. It is without doubt one of the most beautiful castle complexes in South Tyrol with fully preserved furnishings from various periods and the famous Pacher frescoes.
